Baseball originated in England and was later brought to the United States of America by the immigrants from Britain. The Americans developed the modern version of baseball and later it has been recognized as the national sport of United States. The game is played in a ninety feet square or diamond with four bases marked at the corners. The tools being used in baseball are three in number-the baseball, bat and the glove or mitt. Baseball has many striking similarities with cricket. A baseball game consists of nine innings. Each of the two teams get one turn at the bat per inning. The team with the highest score wins in the game.
