Tennis is a popular Olympic game played all over the world. The game originated in United Kingdom and spread to different parts of the world. Although initially dominated by the upper class English population, now the game has been played by different strata of society and different age groups. A tennis racquet and a ball are needed to play the game. The players try to strike the ball in to the opponent’s court. Singles is played between two players while doubles is played between two teams with two members each. The four Grand Slam tournaments which receive world wide attention are the Australian Open, the French Open, the US Open and the Wimbledon.
