The game hockey was played in various countries years before, but the game derived its current name from Ireland. During the initial phases of development of the game, no regulations and rules were followed and as a result, injuries were pretty common. Later, the Hockey association has been formed which makes and regulates the rules. Now the picture has changed and many countries have hockey teams which participate in the Olympics, Champion’s Trophy and the World Cup. Two teams are involved in the game. Using the hockey stick, they try to maneuver the ball or puck to be placed in the opponent’s net.
