Oceania is used to denote a group of islands situated in the proximities of the Pacific Ocean. The Island group is divided in to three subgroups for ease of recognition-Melanesia, Micronesia and Polynesia. Some geographers classify Oceania in to Near Oceania and Remote Oceania. The boundaries and constituents of Oceania vary a lot among the geographers and scientists. The area is one of the major ecological regions in the earth. The Island groups are sparsely inhibited and contain plenty of coral reefs and volcanos. Agriculture and other resources are not a major source of revenue for the people and the economy of the region is relatively weak.
