Colleges are educational institutions that provide education for the students. In many countries, the word college holds different meanings. In USA, the college is an institution that provides post secondary undergraduate education. Two year colleges offer undergraduate degrees for their students while four year colleges provide the bachelors degree. Many colleges may come under the roof of a single university. Universities confer degrees on a wide range of subjects and technologies. Many universities offer online post secondary education programs and degree programs. Universities have many academic departments and several members who form a board of trustees. Public universities will be run by the state or government while private universities are privately funded.
