Scripts control many software applications. Scripts are often set in the associated applications. Different types of scripting languages are being used in the computer dominated world. The widespread use of graphic user interface has given rise to scripting languages which controls the system. They are able to interact with any type of graphics generated in a system. Hence they can be used to control many applications and to automate several repetitive actions. Macros are a variation of GUI scripts. Languages specific to an application can be adapted to the needs of the user. Java, CSS, VB script, Ajax are all used for client side scripting languages used with web browsers. PHP, ColdFusion, JSP and ASP are server side scripting languages. Coding is the process which involves the creation of codes, debugging, testing and maintenance of the same.
