Earlier, women were not entitled to actively participate in the major affairs of the society. Their role was simply limited to attending the domestic tasks and working for the welfare of their family. The status of women changed gradually with the evolution of society. Economic necessity has initially obliged the female category to look for employment opportunities just like their counterparts. The hard working nature and attention to detail have earned them reputation in the society. Recently, the gender based discrimination has become virtually non existent and both the males and females earn and support the family more or less equally.
