Water is essential for our household activities, for agricultural purposes and also for industrial uses. Fresh water present is very less in the usable form, as the majority of water over the earth’s surface is salt water. The demand for fresh water is progressively increasing due to the increase in the human population. Even though been termed as a renewable resource, fresh water demand exceeds the rate of replenishment recently. The main reason can be cited as a result of pollution or declination of fresh water ecosystems. The chief resources of fresh water include surface water as found in rivers and lakes, sub-surface water, under river flow, icebergs and desalinated water.
