Development in any field is essential for the progression of humanity. But it should be in such a way as not to deprive the future generations of any current resources. Such development that does not compromise the ability of the coming generations is called as sustainable development. Sustainable development has long been a topic of debate, but still countries are working towards achieving the same. The usage of natural resources should be regulated to ensure that the rate of usage is well behind the rate of their depletion. The developed countries are conscious of the ill effects of modernization and strive hard to help the developing nations to abstain from any activities that would cause exhaustion of resources and imbalance of nature.
