The Middle East is strategically important region in the world. The region encompasses south western Asia and north eastern Africa. Religions like Christianity, Islam and Judaism took their origin in the Middle East region even though Islamic people form a majority of the population. The climate in the region is hot and only limited irrigation facilities are there to support agriculture. Dry and dusty winds sharqi and shamal occur seasonally through out the region. But the area possesses a huge reserve of crude oil and petroleum products. Conflicts and war were common in the area in the past two centuries. Both wealthy and poor nations are there in the region.
