Nursing was not a separate profession in the past. Florence nightingale, who served the British army, started the first move towards developing the noble service of nursing in to a profession. She formulated certain principles to regulate the profession. Now there is high demand for nursing services. In many countries, the governments have adopted some rules to regulate the nursing profession. In order to get educated as a nurse, students have to pass certain entrance examinations. Nursing is a profession which offers diversity. Nurses have to serve different people having a wide range of diseases. Specialization is there in the nursing field too.
