Addiction can be termed as an obsessive, compulsive behaviour of people. People with addictive behaviour will be physically dependent on something without which they cannot survive. Addiction is a general term, but it is commonly used to denote drug and alcohol addiction. Marijuana, heroine, amphetamine, cocaine etc are examples of additives. Abuse of these additive drugs present a lot of health risks like hepatitisB, hepatitisC, endocarditis and cellulitis. Alcoholism is another addictive habit which is found in every society. Alcoholism causes health related problems and it is a common reason for disrupted family relationships. Smokings, gambling, overeating, over work etc are examples of other types of addictions. In extreme cases of addiction, medical intervention is needed.
