Literature is all about writing. Epics have been written as early as in 2700 BC. Literary works include a wide range of categories. Poems are made of verses and depend heavily on the appropriateness of the choice and use of words. There were poetries like Homer, Sumerian Epic of Gilgamesh etc in the old days itself. Essays and prose are completely different from poetry and have fewer adherences to the aesthetics. Fiction works include short stories, novels and like categories. Nonfictions include drama, historical writings, literary journalism, philosophical works etc. The style and language of literary works varies with the literary period. Evaluation of work and the creative reviews improve the quality of the literature.
