Awards are conferred in recognition of exceptional brilliance in a field. It can be in the form of trophies, cups, medals, certificates, titles or it can be even some monetary kind of reward. There is no clear cut yardstick for presenting an award to an individual or organization, but a significant show of excellence in some area is a prerequisite. An award is always valuable and will be cherished by the recipient. The esteem of an award depends on the body that confers the award.
